The Opening

There’s a new sound echoing through Dole Park in Lanai City — the satisfying crack of a bowling ball finding its mark. After a gap of more than 45 years, bowling has returned to the island with the opening of Lanai Bowl, retro-inspired and blends nostalgic American diner vibes with genuine Hawaiian flavors.
“A retro-inspired atmosphere that feels at once nostalgic and fresh.”
Celebrating History
The original bowling alley on Lanai was something special. Built between 1951 and 1952 through community fundraising and volunteer labor, the lanes were a centerpiece of island social life until they closed in the late 1970s. The building eventuallybecame the Lanai Community Center. For a generation of residents and visitors, bowling was simply a memory.
The new Lanai Bowl honors that legacy while breathing fresh life into Dole Park. Designed in a late 1950s to early 1960s American diner style, the space channels the golden era of soda fountains and jukeboxes — and yes, there is an actual jukebox on-site.
Four Lanes, Endless Fun – The new Lanai Bowl features:
• Four classic bowling lanes with retro styling — perfect for families, date nights, or friendly local competition
• A jukebox and arcade area rounds out the vintage 1950s–60s American diner experience
• New York–style pizzas with a local twist, including the signature Lanai Axis S&P pizza
• Milkshakes, Pineapple Dole Whips, and shave ice bowls loaded with all-natural island-inspired syrups
• Hawaiian-Americana diner favorites including Chicken Katsu and Garlic Shrimp
Local Flavors on Every Plate
What sets Lanai Bowl apart from any mainland alley is the menu. This is Hawaiian-Americana diner food done with local ingredients and flavors. Start with the Chicken Katsu — a crowd-pleasing island staple — or go for the Garlic Shrimp swimming in a bright citrus-garlic butter.
The standout, though, may be the Lanai Axis S&P Pizza, which tops a New York-style crust with house-made Italian sausage crafted from local Axis deer — the free-ranging venison found across the island. It’s the kind of dish you simply cannot get anywhere else on earth.
Cool down after a few frames with a thick milkshake, a signature Pineapple Dole Whip, or a shave ice bowl piled high with all-natural syrups inspired by the flavors of the islands. Every sip and bite reminds you that you are somewhere truly one-of-a-kind.

• Chicken Katsu
• Garlic Shrimp in citrus-garlic butter
• Lanai Axis S&P Pizza (venison sausage)
