  1. Known as “The Pineapple Island”

Lanai earned the nickname “The Pineapple Island” thanks to its history as the world’s largest pineapple plantation. For most of the 20th century, the island was owned and operated by Dole Food Company, which grew and exported millions of pineapples annually.

Covering just 140 square miles, Lanai ranks number 6 in size among the Hawaiian Islands and is the smallest inhabited Hawaiian island that welcomes visitors. 1. Great for Outdoor Adventures – Hunting, Fishing & Hiking

Despite its small size, Lanai is full of outdoor opportunities. Enjoy the chance for a guided hunt of axis deer or mouflon sheep and line fishing from the shore. 1. A Place to Disconnect and Recharge

With its laid-back atmosphere, limited cell service in some areas, and a strong connection to Hawaiian culture, Lanai offers something rare — the chance to truly disconnect from the modern world and reconnect with nature, history, and yourself.
