9 Ways to Support the Lanai Cat Sanctuary
Located on the peaceful island of Lanai, the Lanai Cat Sanctuary is home to over 800 rescue cats — lovingly referred to as “Lanai Lions.” This one-of-a-kind, open-air sanctuary provides lifelong care for its feline residents while also helping protect Hawaii’s native bird population. Whether you’re a cat lover, an animal advocate, or just want to make a difference in a small but impactful way, here are nine meaningful ways you can support this incredible place.
- Visit the Sanctuary
The sanctuary is open daily from 10 AM to 3 PM. Come by, spend time with the cats, and see firsthand the incredible work being done. While you’re there, consider donating, sponsoring a cat, or simply soaking in the love and purrs.
👉 Plan your visit
- Sponsor a Lanai Lion
For less than $1 a day, you can sponsor a cat and receive an adoption certificate and photo updates. Your contribution helps provide food, medical care, and love for a cat in need.
👉 Sponsor a cat here
- Rent a Piece of Purr-adise
For $495 a year, you can “rent” a cozy cat bungalow and have it named in honor of yourself or someone special. It’s a fun and unique way to support the sanctuary.
👉 Rent a bungalow
- Donate Through the Amazon Wishlist

- Donate Stock

👉 Make a stock donation
- Sponsor a Senior or Special Needs Cat
Senior and special needs cats deserve love too. When you sponsor one, you’ll get updates and photos—and the joy of knowing you’re making a real difference.
👉 Sponsor a special cat
- Join Fundraising Events
Participate in events like the annual Charity Walk that help raise funds for the sanctuary’s daily operations and future goals.
