Tips for Renting a Jeep on Lanai
Q. So how can I rent a Jeep on Lanai?
A. Our Jeep Provider is still not renting to day visitors/non-hotel guests; however, we can recommend a few independent Lāna’i rental companies that should have availability:
Bart Baldwin – ABB Rental – (808) 649-0644 – [email protected] – http://www.abbautorental.com
Lāna‘i Cheap Jeeps – (808) 489-2296 – http://lanaicheapjeeps.com
Lanai Car Rental – (808)-565-3100 – lanaicarrental.com
Paved Roads Only – 808 Day Trip/Judi Riley – Call/text (808) 649-0664, email [email protected] –http://808daytrip.com/Rental_Cars.html
Q. What about Ferry Tickets?
A. We can assist with your arranging your ferry tickets only for Independent Visitors renting Jeeps. Book your Ferry Round Trip Only for Independent Visitors 6:30AM-5:30PM HERE.
Q. Where do I pick up the Jeep?
A. Depends on the Rental Company utilized – ask them for details. Some will drop the vehicle at the Harbor for maximum convenience (ABB & 808daytrip) others like Lanai Car Rental usually require a pick-up in Town. Town is approximately 8 miles up the hill from the Harbor and transfers are usually done via Rabaca’s Shuttle at a cost of $10 per person each way.
Q. What are the drive times and routes to some of Lāna‘i’s storied places?
A. Lāna‘i has less than forty miles of paved road (marked in yellow on the map) and hundreds of miles of red dirt trails and unpaved roads. So most of Lāna‘i’s storied places can only be reached via the unpaved roads. Please check out the map image below for locations and approximate drive times. Note: Access is subject to weather & road conditions and Rental Company at their discretion may restrict which routes are open. After booking your ferry tickets and rental please email us if you have more questions about possible routes.
