LANAI CITY, Lanai – The nonprofit Lanai Cat Sanctuary celebrated its ten year anniversary with a free, public event on Saturday. About 500 people attended – along with the 600 or so cats who call the place home!

The organization presented the following awards:

Alberta de Jetley – Lifetime Supporters
Goodfellow Bros. – Donation Construction
Travel agency Lost on Lanai – Community Supporter
Olena Heu – Volunteer of the Year
Pulama Lanai – Partnership in Conservation.

Lanai Cat Sanctuary established a permanent location in 2009. Since then, it says more than 2,000 cats have been sterilized, preventing thousands of kittens from life on the streets and allowing endangered birds to thrive. Read more of the article at:
