This tour is designed for visitors of all ages and interests who harbor a curiosity about tea (Camellia sinensis) cultivation and tasting. As you embark on the journey, the knowledgeable tour guides will not only enlighten you about tea but also share insights into the other beautiful botanicals that grace our farm. All ages are welcome, and children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult throughout the tour. Participants should be capable of walking unassisted for a 20-30 minute stretch on unpaved grass and dirt pathways, as the farm tour location is not ADA accessible.
Maui Tea Farm is the premier grower and producer of exquisite loose-leaf teas and specialty tisanes on the Hawaiian Island of Maui. The Maui Tea Farm and tea shop are perched at 4,100 feet (1,250 meters) elevation on the slopes of Haleakalā Volcano, en route to Haleakalā National Park & Summit. The cool and pure air, coupled with frequent cloud mist, creates an ideal environment for cultivating premium high mountain tea. Their tea plants flourish alongside native Hawaiian koa, ’ōhi’a, and māmane trees, amidst coffee, citrus, olive, and other fruit trees, as well as a variety of flowers and exotic botanicals. Specializing in the growth and processing of the unique, native Hawaiian herbal tisane known as māmaki (a plant in the nettle family with healing properties), we take pride in a commitment to authenticity and quality.
